• Description: Pyrimidine-2-carboxamidine is a coordination compound that contains two benzyl groups and has a molecule weight of 288. It is synthesized by the trimerization of pyridine-2-carboxamide with formaldehyde, followed by oxidative carbonylation. Pyrimidine-2-carboxamidine has bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex, which may be due to the formyl group or the presence of halides on its structure.
