Description :
(2S,5S)-2,5-Pyrrolidinedicarboxylicacid is a condensation product of hydroxyacetone and pyrrolidine. It has a chiral center and can exist as two stereoisomers. One isomer is the L-form (levorotatory) and the other is the D-form (dextrorotatory). The L-form of this substance has an acidic character and can be used as an alcohol in organic synthesis. It also has a high yield when reacted with methoxy or methyl ester, which are organocatalysts. This substance is used for the preparation of anilines, aldehydes, and glutamic acid.
