- Pyridine-2,6-Dicarbonitrile
2,6-Pyridinedicarbonitrile (2,6-PDC) is a chemical species that belongs to the class of x-ray absorption. It is an ester hydrochloride salt with triazine and pyridine compounds. 2,6-Pyridinedicarbonitrile has been shown to be a homogeneous catalyst for the electrochemical oxidation of hydrogen peroxide. This compound has also been used in solid-phase synthesis as a hydrogen bond donor to form supramolecular structures. 2,6-Pyridinedicarbonitrile is stable in air and water but reacts with oxidizing agents such as chlorine, bromine, iodine, nitric acid, or perchlorates.
