Description

PEG 200 is a polymer of ethylene glycol. It has been used as an excipient in pharmaceutical products, such as proteins and peptides. PEG 200 is used to increase the solubility of drugs that are insoluble in water and other polar solvents. It is also used to reduce the bioavailability of drugs that are highly lipophilic. PEG 200 is soluble in nonpolar solvents such as benzene, chloroform, and dichloromethane. This polymer has been shown to bind with human proteins due to its hydrophilic properties.
