(2S,4S)-4-Phenylpyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid is a chiral molecule that can be used as a resolving agent. It has been shown to adsorb to the surface of industrial catalysts and inhibit their activity. The enzyme inhibitors are not easily removed by eluting or chromatographic methods, but they can be removed by treatment with hydrochloric acid or fosinopril sodium. This enantiomer has been used in the production of alkylated products, such as polymers, which have an increased resistance to environmental stressors.
