Description :
1,3-Propanedisulfonic acid disodium salt is a pyrimidine compound that is used as a pharmaceutical drug to treat chronic kidney disease. The major tautomers of this drug are 1,3-dipropanedisulfonic acid and 2,5-dipropanedisulfonic acid. 1,3-Propanedisulfonic acid disodium salt inhibits the production of inflammatory compounds in cells and has been shown to have inhibitory effects on tumor growth in mice. It also has been shown to increase pancreatic function in diabetic patients.
