• Description: Phenoxyacetic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is a nucleic acid research reagent. It is an uncharged molecule that can be used to inhibit the activity of ribonucleic acid or transfer RNA. Phenoxyacetic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester has been shown to have antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. This compound has also been shown to bind to the anticodon stem region of tRNA molecules and inhibit protein synthesis by preventing the binding of aminoacyl tRNA synthetases to their cognate mRNA codons.
