Description

Pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PET) is a reactive monomer that can be used for the treatment of wastewater. PET has a hydroxyl group that reacts with an oxygen atom, resulting in the production of polymers containing ester groups. These polymers are biocompatible and have been shown to be resistant to microbial attack. PET is also used as a crosslinking agent in multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). MWCNTs are strong, light weight materials that are biocompatible and have high resistance to reactive compounds such as nitrogen atoms. PET can also be used as a matrix for microcapsules that contain methyl ethyl ketone and allyl carbonate. This polymer is highly resistant to many chemicals, including water and heat, which makes it suitable for use in industrial applications.
