Description :PBDE 206 is a fire retardant that is used in polymeric matrices. The debromination of PBDE 206 can be increased by light exposure, which may lead to the formation of more toxic compounds. The rate of debromination is influenced by the matrix effect and enzyme activities. PBDE 206 has low bioavailability, which means that it will not be absorbed easily into the human body, so it cannot be detected in blood or urine samples. The analytical method for this compound is still being developed and there are currently no standard methods available. A polymeric matrix will need to be prepared before using any sample preparation technique. This includes fatty acid extraction or chemical ionization with hydrochloric acid and diphenyl ethers.
