Pentyl isocyanate binds to receptors on human cells, which causes an increase in blood pressure by stimulating vasoconstriction or vasodilation. This compound can be detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
