Pentyl methanethiosulfonate (PMTS) is a small molecule that can act as a catalytic, targeting, or chimeric antagonist. It binds to the target molecule by attacking the target with its sulfur atom. PMTS has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase and may be useful in treating Alzheimer's disease.
