Description :
1-Pivaloyl-1H-imidazol is a monosaccharide that can be obtained from the hydrolysis of n-acetyl-d-galactosamine and n-acetyl-d-glucosamine. This transformation is efficient and produces low amounts of byproducts. 1-Pivaloyl-1H-imidazol can be found in nature as a residue, but it has not been shown to have any biological activity.
