• Description: 2-Propylhexanoic acid is a fatty acid that is naturally present in the human body. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of malonic acid decarboxylase (MAD) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH). 2-Propylhexanoic acid has been shown to induce apoptosis in glioma cells at concentrations of 1 µM or higher. The molecular descriptors, plasma concentrations, and endpoints for this compound have been determined by using a chromatographic method. 2-Propylhexanoic acid copolymerizes with the monomers styrene and acrylic acid at a reaction time of 30 minutes, producing a polymer that can be used as an implant material.
