Description

The p-Nitrophenylacetic acid N-hydroxyuccinimide ester is a covalent binding cross-linking agent that binds to serum albumin and human red blood cells. It has been shown to bind to the protein through the carbonyl group and generates a particle with a conformation that signifies affinity. The modification of proteins in this way may be due to the binding of the carbonyl group, which can lead to changes in protein conformation or even modifications of amino acids. This chemical has been used as an absorption spectroscopy agent and can be used for the study of albumin.
