Nom:L-Phenylacetyl carbinol
Synonymes :
- (1S)-1-Hydroxy-1-phenylpropan-2-one
Marque:Biosynth
Description :L-Phenylacetyl carbinol is a phenolic compound that is produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of coliform bacteria, such as Escherichia coli K-12 and Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium. The synthesis of L-Phenylacetyl carbinol starts with the production of benzaldehyde from benzyl alcohol, followed by the condensation reaction with acetone in the presence of sodium cyanide to produce L-phenylacetylcarbinol. Immobilization technologies have been used to produce pharmaceutical preparations, using L-phenylacetyl carbinol as an example. This immobilization technique is based on the adsorption of proteins onto a surface, which can be done using different methods such as covalent binding or physical entrapment. The surface methodology and adsorption techniques are important factors in producing pharmaceutical preparations.
