(2R,3S)-3-Phenylisoserine methyl ester (PTX-B) is an amide that has been shown to have anticancer activity. PTX-B is a drug-resistant cancer therapy and can be used in combination with docetaxel for the treatment of breast cancer. It inhibits cell proliferation by binding to the active site of the microtubule. PTX-B also inhibits the production of acetate salt and methyl ester, which are molecules that introduce modifications to cancer cells. This drug can be used as an alternative treatment for drug-resistant cancers such as those caused by isoxazolyl and Mcf-7.
