Description :Propyl 2-hydroxybenzoate is an organic compound that is used as a reactive additive in polycarbonates, polyesters, and epoxy resins. The oxidation products of propyl 2-hydroxybenzoate are reactive and can be used to modify the properties of polymers. This chemical has been shown to react with hydroxide solution in a low energy reaction to produce hydroxy groups and reaction products. Propyl 2-hydroxybenzoate can be found naturally in nepeta cataria (catnip) and is also synthetically produced for use as a chemical intermediate.
