Description :
Perillen is a polymer film that contains probiotic bacteria. The polymer film is designed to release the bacteria slowly over time and it binds to specific ligands on the surface of the gastrointestinal tract. Perillene, a carbon-based molecule, is used as an adhesive for the film. Perillene has been shown to have epoxidase activity and can be used in sectioning. Perillene also has a high detection rate for calcium carbonate, which is found in rocks and shells. Chemical compositions of perillene include hexane, which is a solvent, and carbon source like fatty acids.
