Perfluorododecyl iodide (PFDI) is a perfluorinated compound that has been used in the synthesis of alkynyl and alkoxy groups. This compound reacts with a variety of functional groups, including hydroxyl and carboxylic acid groups. PFDI is resistant to oxidation by air-oxidation and can be used as a non-aqueous solvent due to its high boiling point. The reactions of PFDI are catalyzed by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions at temperatures ranging from -78°C to room temperature.
