Description

1H,1H,11H,11H-Perfluoro-3,6,9-Trioxaundecane-1,11-Diol is a perfluorinated compound that has a fluorine atom attached to each of the three carbon atoms in the molecule. It is a cross-linking agent that can be used as an antireflection coating on the surface of materials such as glass or plastic. 1H,1H,11H,11H-Perfluoro-3,6,9-Trioxaundecane-1,11-Diol has been shown to increase the hydrophobicity and water repellency of these surfaces. This compound is also used as a functional group in organic synthesis and as a supercritical fluid for extracting certain metals from their ores.
