Description

6'-o-p-Hydroxybenzoylcatalposide is a natural product that has been isolated from the fungus Aspergillus. It is one of the major metabolites of catalpol, a diterpenoid compound found in the roots of Uncaria tomentosa. 6'-o-p-Hydroxybenzoylcatalposide has been shown to have antitumor and immunosuppressive activity in animal models. It also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes and may be useful for treating cancer or autoimmune diseases.
