Rubidium hydroxide hydrate is a chemical substance that belongs to the group of metal hydroxides. It is a white, crystalline solid that is soluble in water. Rubidium hydroxide hydrate has been used as a catalyst for the production of polyethylene terephthalate and for the synthesis of β-unsaturated ketones. It can also be used as a reagent in organic synthesis due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. Rubidium hydroxide hydrate can be used as an oxidizing agent, as well as being able to reduce many metallic ions such as aluminium, molybdenum, and iron. The pH value of this compound is neutral at 7.
