RuCl2[(S)-xylbinap][(S)-daipen] is an aryl chloride ligand that is often used in the chemical transformation of amides and chlorides. It is also used to synthesize chiral amines, which are important for the synthesis of various drugs. The RuCl2[(S)-xylbinap][(S)-daipen] ligand was first reported in 1990 by chemists at the University of Cambridge and has since been used as a catalyst for cross-coupling reactions. This ligand has been shown to be effective in catalyzing both Suzuki-Miyaura and Stille coupling reactions. In addition, it has been found to be an excellent catalyst for the preparation of ancillary ligands such as binap or diazaphospholane derivatives.
