• Description: Rac 3-hydroxydecanoic acid is a fatty acid that exhibits antifungal activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of a number of fungi, including Trichophyton rubrum and Candida albicans, in vitro. Rac 3-hydroxydecanoic acid is active against the na channel, actin filaments, and bacterial strains such as Streptococcus faecalis. This compound also inhibits bacterial translocation and structural analysis. The mechanism of action of rac 3-hydroxydecanoic acid may be due to its ability to cause an acidic pH inside the cell and bind with hydroxyl groups on proteins. br>br> This molecule has been shown to have an effect on fatty acids; it can form a complex with caproic acid and neutralize it's acidic properties.
