Description

Rosuvastatin Methyl Ester is a synthetic statin that has been shown to inhibit the activity of the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. This inhibition leads to decreased production of cholesterol and, as a result, reduced LDL-cholesterol levels. Rosuvastatin Methyl Ester is an enantiomer that is more active than other statins. However, it also has a higher risk for adverse effects such as liver damage or muscle pain. The drug may be taken in solid form or as an oral suspension, which contains crystallising agents to help with solubility and bioavailability. Rosuvastatin Methyl Ester has polymorphs, impurities, and pulping issues due to the presence of alkali metal and acid catalysts during synthesis.
