Description

Sabinene is a terpene found in the essential oil of Melaleuca alternifolia. It has been shown that sabinene inhibits enzyme activity and has been used as an analytical tool for determining the optimum concentration for a reaction. The x-ray crystal structures of sabinene with different enzymes have also been determined, which showed that it binds to the active site of these enzymes. Sabinene has been studied for its toxicity and biological properties against infectious diseases, including HIV, malaria, and herpes simplex virus. Sabinene has also been studied for its toxicological effects on c. glabrata
