Description

Spiro[isobenzofuran-1(3H),4'-piperidin]-3-one is a ligand that binds to the 5HT2C receptor. It has been shown to have modulating effects on this receptor's activation. Spiro[isobenzofuran-1(3H),4'-piperidin]-3-one has also been shown to have antihypertensive properties in animals and humans, and has been used to treat cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and congestive heart failure. This drug also acts as an antidepressant in animals and humans. Spiro[isobenzofuran-1(3H),4'-piperidin]-3-one can be used for the treatment of psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia. The drug is not active against bacterial or fungal infections.
