Description

Scandium nitrate pentahydrate is a chemical compound that is used in analytical chemistry. It has a particle size of less than 1 micron and an x-ray crystal structure that is characterized by the presence of two crystallographically different scandium ions. Scandium nitrate pentahydrate is thermally stable at high temperatures and has a high resistance to chemical reactions, such as transfer reactions and metal hydroxides. It can be used for the preparation of cationic surfactants, which are important for the production of detergents and other products. Scandium nitrate pentahydrate can also be used in the synthesis of organic compounds with a variety of functional groups. This compound forms reaction products when reacted with chloride or sodium carbonate, depending on the pH level. The reaction product consists mainly of chlorides and sodium carbonates. This product has been shown to have an nmr spectrum characteristic of a tetrahydrate form.
