• Description: Serotonin-d4 HCl is a 5-hydroxytryptamine 1 (5-HT1) receptor agonist. It is used as a pharmacological agent in vitro and in vivo to study the role of 5-HT receptors, especially the 5-HT2 receptors. Serotonin-d4 HCl has been shown to have synergic effects with other drugs, such as fluoxetine, and can be used to study the relationship between serotonin and creatinine sulfate levels. This drug has also been shown to increase monoamine neurotransmitter levels, which may be due to its ability to stimulate the release of serotonin from storage vesicles.
