Spiroxamine is a glycol ether compound that is used as a pesticide. Spiroxamine inhibits the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids, which are essential for cellular function. This antibiotic has been shown to have synergistic effects with tebuconazole and prothioconazole in wild-type strains of fungi. It can also be used as an analytical tool to measure protein content in cell lysates by preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
