• Description: N-Succinimidyl palmitate is a fatty acid ester that is used to incorporate fatty acids into proteins. It has been shown to cause cardiac hypertrophy in rats, which may be due to its ability to bind and take up free fatty acids from the blood. N-Succinimidyl palmitate can also be used as a crosslinker in chemical analyses and for the synthesis of analogs. It is soluble in organic solvents such as hydrochloric acid and can be used for lysine residues on proteins. The molecule also has an acidic pH, which may limit its use in cell culture.
