Description

Salsolidine hydrochloride is an amide drug that is metabolized to form cyclic sulfate. It has been shown to have a dopamine-like pharmacological effect in the central nervous system. Salsolidine hydrochloride also inhibits TGF-β, a protein that is involved in the inflammatory process and may be responsible for the development of fibrosis. Salsolidine hydrochloride has also been shown to reduce levels of nitric oxide, which plays an important role in inflammation and may be responsible for the development of fibrosis.
