Secretin is an active analogue of the natural hormone secretin. It is used in biochemical research to study the regulation of pancreatic secretion, and in vivo models to study camp levels. Secretin has been shown to increase glucose levels in the blood (i.e., it is a glucagon-like peptide). Secretin has also been shown to increase levels of vasoactive intestinal peptide and insulin in the pancreas, which may be regulated by vitamin D3.
