(3R,4R,5R,6R)-3,4,5,6-Tetrahydroxyazepane Hydrochloride is a prophylactic treatment for retinitis pigmentosa. It is a screening and treatment method to prevent the progression of retinal degeneration in patients with inherited retinal dystrophies such as retinitis pigmentosa. (3R,4R,5R,6R)-3,4,5,6-Tetrahydroxyazepane Hydrochloride is used to stabilize photoreceptor cells and protect them from oxidative stress.
