Description :
2,3,4-Trifluoroaniline is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to be active against a number of Gram-positive bacteria. It is produced by the catalytic conversion of sodium hypochlorite in the presence of polyphosphoric acid and dichloroacetyl chloride. This compound can also be synthesized from 2,3,4-trichloroaniline by acetylation with chlorobenzene. The product is an isomeric mixture of two diastereoisomers, which can be separated through a filtration process. The final product contains a mixture of 1-(2,3,4-trifluorophenyl)ethanone and 1-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)ethanone.
