Description :
1,3,5-Trimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde is a dithioacetal that reacts with mercaptoethanol to yield 2,5-dithiobenzothiazole. The reaction proceeds through a nucleophilic substitution mechanism. The product is unstable and readily decomposes to form dimers.
