Description

1-[5-Trifluoromethyl pyridine-2-yl]piperazine is a new antibacterial compound that inhibits the growth of gram-negative bacteria by binding to the active site of the enzyme. It has shown antimicrobial activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterobacter aerogenes. 1-[5-Trifluoromethyl pyridine-2-yl]piperazine has been shown to bind to the hydrophobic region of the active site, which is an area that is not usually accessible to other antibiotics. This binding creates a tight, hydrophobic environment around this region, which prevents water from entering and disrupting the structure of the active site.
