• Description: 2-(4H-1,2,4-Triazol-4-yl)phenol is a benzene compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful in the treatment of asthma due to its ability to inhibit the release of histamine from mast cells. 2-(4H-1,2,4-Triazol-4-yl)phenol inhibits dihydrofolate reductase and prevents the formation of tetrahydrofolic acid (THF), which is required for DNA synthesis. It also blocks the formation of proteins by inhibiting protein synthesis via inhibition of the enzyme ribonucleic acid (RNA) polymerase II at sites downstream from initiation.
