Description

Tetrachlorophthalonitrile is a monoclonal antibody that is used in the animal health industry. Tetrachlorophthalonitrile binds to chloride and yields hydrochloric acid in solution, which can be detected by an electrochemical detector. The detection sensitivity of tetrachlorophthalonitrile is not limited to chloride ions but also includes other nucleophilic compounds such as pyrimidine compounds. This drug has been shown to have a molecular weight of 356 and a molecular formula of CClNO. The effective dose for tetrachlorophthalonitrile is about 0.6 mg per kilogram body weight (mg/kg). Tetrachlorophthalonitrile can be used as an alternative for chlorine treatment in wastewater treatment facilities, where it can reduce the negative effects on the environment and human health caused by chlorination, while maintaining comparable disinfection efficacy.
