Description

2-Toluenesulfonyl chloride is a cationic monomer that polymerizes with amines to form a water-soluble polymer. It is an amide that can be used as a diagnostic agent in animals, as it has been shown to bind to the primary amino groups of proteins. 2-Toluenesulfonyl chloride also inhibits inflammatory diseases and autoimmune diseases, and may be useful for the treatment of both conditions. The mechanism of action is not yet known, but this drug has been shown to inhibit enzymes such as fatty acid synthetase and protein kinase C. This agent may have potential as a therapeutic agent for rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease.
