Thiazosulfonum is an antimicrobial agent that has been shown to be effective in treating chronic pulmonary infections and inflammatory bowel disease. It inhibits bacterial growth by disrupting the synthesis of folic acid, which is essential for cell division. Thiazosulfonum also prevents the formation of reactive oxygen species and blocks the synthesis of DNA and RNA. The drug's effects on tissue include an inhibition of angiogenesis, which may be due to a direct effect on vascular endothelial cells or a reduction in thrombospondin-1 production by macrophages. Thiazosulfonum is not active against Aerobacter aerogenes and has no effect on rat liver, kidney, or lung cells. This drug is also used as an analog for studying biological properties and biological studies.br>
