Description

2-Tetradecylcyclobutanone is a fatty acid that is found in animal fat and has been used for the analysis of fatty acids. The sample was extracted by supercritical fluid extraction. It was then purified by chromatography methods, such as liquid chromatography and gas chromatography. 2-Tetradecylcyclobutanone can be genotoxic, with genotoxic effects seen in squids exposed to radiation or the carcinogen azoxymethane. It also has a genotoxic potential and can cause micronucleus formation in tumor cells. 2-Tetradecylcyclobutanone has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in cell lines.
