It inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi, and phytopathogenic fungi by disrupting their cell membranes. 4-(1,3-Thiazol-2-yl)piperidine has been shown to be toxic to plants at high concentrations. This chemical can be used as a diluent in formulations of other pesticides or as a surfactant in water treatment processes.
