Description

4,5,6,7-Tetrabromobenzimidazole is a monosodium salt of 4,5,6,7-tetrabromobenzimidazole that inhibits the activity of protein kinase C. It has been shown to be toxic to prostate cancer cells in vitro and significantly cytotoxic to untreated control cells. This compound also possesses inhibitory properties against MMP-9 and TPA-induced activation. The biological properties of this molecule are still unclear due to the lack of research on its effects in humans.
