Thieno[3,2-c]pyridine is an organic compound that contains both a phenoxy and alcohol group. It can be used to treat hyperproliferative diseases such as cancer. Thieno[3,2-c]pyridine has shown anticancer activity in mice and inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to 5-HT2 receptors. The safety profile of this drug is good and it has been shown to have a low incidence of side effects. Thieno[3,2-c]pyridine also has an anti-inflammatory effect on inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Thieno[3,2-c]pyridine binds with clopidogrel (a platelet aggregation inhibitor) and has been shown to inhibit the activation of nitric oxide synthase (NOS).
