Description

S-triazine-1,3,5-triethanol is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of s-triazines. It is synthesized from fatty acids and potassium dichromate. This test compound has been shown to have microbicidal activity against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. S-triazine-1,3,5-triethanol also has anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting leukotriene synthesis and blocking leukotriene receptor antagonists. This drug has been shown to cause allergic reactions in humans and may be carcinogenic in animals. It is not known what the environmental effects of this substance are because it has not been tested for toxicity or bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms.
