Description

Trifluralin is a herbicide that is used for the control of annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds. It inhibits the synthesis of plant proteins by interfering with the polymerase chain reaction. Trifluralin has been shown to have carcinogenic potential in laboratory animals, although its carcinogenicity in humans is not clear. Trifluralin also has genotoxic effects on mammalian cells, which may be due to its redox potentials. The toxicity of trifluralin in mammals has been studied extensively, with various biochemical properties being investigated.
