Description

Trimetazidine dihydrochloride is a drug that has been shown to have statistically significant effects on mitochondrial functions. Trimetazidine is an anti-ischemic agent, which prevents myocardial infarcts by inhibiting the release of natriuretic peptides and thus reducing the level of intracellular cGMP. Trimetazidine dihydrochloride has also been shown to reduce cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis, which are caused by oxidative stress and hypertension.
