2,4,6-Trichloroquinazoline is an anticancer drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA. This drug has been shown to be cytotoxic against a variety of human tumor cell lines in vitro and in vivo. The mechanism of action for 2,4,6-Trichloroquinazoline is inhibition of nucleophilic amines which are involved in DNA synthesis. The IC50 values for this compound range from 0.1 to 1 µM and it has potent antiproliferative activity with significant inhibitory activity against various tumor cell lines.
