Description :
2,3,5-Triiodobenzaldehyde is a chemoembolization agent that has been used in vivo to treat intra-arterial and extra-arterial embolization. It is also used as a radiopaque marker for embolization of the liver or other organs. 2,3,5-Triiodobenzaldehyde is not an ionic contrast agent and does not contain any radioactive isotopes. The compound has been shown to be more efficient than other methods when used for transcatheter embolization of hepatic arterial branches. This compound has also been shown to be effective in the chemoembolization of polyvinyl emboli that are introduced into the bloodstream.
